Why we built this

The web went big.
It forgot to stay local.

Somewhere along the way, the corner shop you love got buried under ten paid ads and a maze of menus. Compass is us putting the neighborhood back at the center — one beautiful site, and one hub, for the place you actually live.

Every local business deserves a home on the web as good as the one they built on Main Street — and the whole town deserves one place to find it all.
That's the entire idea. The barber, the roaster, the skate shop, the family diner — each one with a site that actually looks like them, all gathered in a hub the region can browse. Not a directory listing. A home of their own.
What we're not

Not another plastic spatula.

You know the drag-it-yourself site builders. We love that they exist — we just think a local shop deserves more than a kit and a weekend lost to it.

The DIY kit

Build it yourself. Good luck.

  • A blank canvas and a Saturday you'll never get back
  • Templates that look like everyone else's
  • Hosting fees, renewals, plugins, surprises
  • When it breaks, you're the IT department
  • You go up alone, found by no one
Compass Club

We build it. You run your shop.

  • A real designer makes it — with your photos and story
  • A look that's unmistakably yours
  • Hosting handled forever, one flat price
  • Something to fix? You text us. Done.
  • A booth in the hub the whole town visits
We think the next web is warmer, slower, and closer to home.
Less doomscroll, more discovery. Less platform, more place. A town raising its own corner of the internet on purpose — beautiful, owned, and proud of where it's from. That's the vibration we're building toward.
How it works

Three steps, and you never log in.

1

Tell us about you

Two minutes in the builder, or one good conversation. Your name, your trade, a few photos. That's the hard part — and it isn't hard.

2

We build it for real

A designer shapes your site and your booth. You see the real, living thing before you pay a cent. Change anything you want.

3

You go live & get found

Your site goes up, your booth lands in the hub, and you get back to doing the thing you're actually great at. We keep it humming.

Who's behind it

Local hands. Real work, already live.

Compass Club is built and hosted by Cosmic Builders — a studio right here in the Fredericksburg region. The sites in our showcase aren't mockups or someday-maybes. They're real brands, online right now, made by the same hands that will make yours.

We started Compass because we kept meeting people with a great shop and a sad little webpage — or none at all — and a builder's dream that died in a template. So we made the thing we wished existed: done-for-you, gorgeous, hosted forever, and gathered in one place the town can find.

The Burg, Spotsy, Stafford, Culpeper — this is our corner of the web, and we'd love for it to be yours too.

A hub the whole town can trust.

Every booth is built with a real person and reviewed before it goes live. We keep it kind, keep it clean, and keep it ours. Quiet to say — but it's why the front door stays open.

Come build the local web with us.

The first founders set the tone — and the rate — for everyone who follows. There's a booth here with your name on it.
